Columbia, MD — Today, U.S. Senator Angela Alsobrooks announced her enthusiastic endorsement for Vanessa Atterbeary as she runs to be the next Howard County Executive:
“I am excited to endorse Vanessa Atterbeary as she campaigns to serve Howard County as its next County Executive,” said Senator Alsobrooks. “She is the fighter that Howard County needs right now. Her love for her home resonates in everything that she does, and her record of service shows her ability to get things done. I know that in this office, she will continue to be a champion for our public schools, tackle the affordability crisis, and be a steadfast partner as we stand up to the Trump Administration together. I believe in Vanessa’s vision of delivering real results for residents and ensuring every voice is heard. I wholeheartedly support her campaign.”
“Senator Alsbrooks has been a champion for Maryland throughout her career, as a State’s Attorney, a County Executive, and now as one of our Senators in Congress,” said Vanessa Atterbeary. “ Her leadership is an inspiration to all of us, and I am proud to have Senator Alsobrooks’ support as we continue this grassroots campaign, working to uplift every part of Howard County.. This campaign is about building a Howard County that works for everyone, in every neighborhood, andI am running for Howard County Executive to ensure working families like mine have a leader who will fight for them.
Vanessa Atterbeary has spent her life serving others most notably fighting to protect public education funding as a leader in the Maryland House of Delegates. Throughout her tenure in the House of Delegates, Atterbeary has been one of Howard County’s most effective advocates for public education, consistently fighting to secure funding, protect classroom resources, and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. Atterbeary has fought to enact landmark legislation to protect survivors, hold abusers accountable, and lead Maryland’s first-in-the-nation police accountability reforms.
Now she’s ready to bring that same record of results home, making sure Howard County has a County Executive who can work with state leaders and stand up to the Trump Administration. She will ensure that despite the chaos coming from Washington DC, families can afford to live here, children thrive in great schools, and every resident has a voice at the table.
